Chelan Co. employee shoots dog in attempt to euthanize it, authorities say
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Authorities said a Chelan County man shot his dog in an attempt to euthanize him.
On June 5, the dog was found off Mission Ridge Road and brought to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society for treatment. They posted about the dog on social media to try and identify him.
A day later, the dog’s owner came forward and admitted that he had shot his dog in order to euthanize him. The dog had allegedly become vicious and attacked his family members in the last few months. The owner is an employee of Chelan County.
In order to avoid a conflict of interest, the case was moved to the Wenatchee Police Department. The investigation has been completed, with no charges filed. The dog owner’s name will not be released, and the dog will remain in the care of the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
