Check out the Coats 4 Kids cleaning process at Alsco

SPOKANE, Wash. — All of the coats have been collected for this year’s 4 News Now Coats 4 Kids campaign.

Now, it’s time for the next phase — getting the coats cleaned and giving them out to children in our community for the winter.

Alsco is the cleaning service 4 News Now has been partnering with for three years now.

Bags of new and gently-used coats have already been in and out of the cleaning process and brought to distribution sites in town, but there are still many more to go.

While Alsco normally cleans for healthcare, food service and hospitality industries, cleaning coats are just a little extra something they’re happy to do for the kids.

“Helping the process of taking care of some kids to be warm and get coats that they may not be able to afford normally feels really good,” said Alsco Production Manager Blake Long.

If you missed out on donating to Coats 4 Kids, you’re encouraged to give to a local clothing bank so more kids are able to receive coats this winter.

Distribution sites across Spokane and Coeur d’Alene open as soon as this week. See the full list here.

If you donated to Coats 4 Kids this year, the 4 News Now team thanks you for your help!
