CDA Schools warn Dalton Elementary families of suspicious man near bus stop
HAYDEN, Idaho — The Coeur d’Alene School District is warning families of Dalton Elementary School of a man spotted lurking in the bushes near a bus stop in Hayden.
The district sent out a note Thursday after receiving a report of a man in the bushes at N. Audobon Dr. and Lochhaven Dr. near the afternoon bus stop. CDA Schools want parents aware that the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is interested in learning this man’s identity and intentions.
If you spot this person, you’re asked to call 911 and monitor his route if he departs on foot so deputies know of his location and direction.
Here is letter the district sent out:
Dear Dalton Families,
You are receiving this safety alert about Bus Route 9. We have received a report that a man has been lurking in the bushes at N. Audubon Dr. and Lochhaven Dr. in Hayden at bus drop-off time in the afternoon. While no crime has been committed and we do not know this person’s identity, we do want to make parents aware that the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is interested in learning the identity of this person in order to maintain safety for students on their way home from school. The Sheriff’s Office is monitoring the situation and has increased patrols in the area.
Please talk with your child about safety and stranger danger. If you see this person, please call 911 and monitor the person’s route if he departs on foot so dispatch can let deputies know his location and direction.
