CDA Firefighters Union collects 8K lbs of food, $6K during ‘Christmas in Quarantine’ fundraiser

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Coeur d’Alene community stepped up and showed remarkable support for neighbors in need.

The Coeur d’Alene Firefighters Union Local 710 held a “Christmas in Quarantine” fundraiser to collect food donations and money for those in need of support.

Off-duty firefighters escorted Santa around town and collected items for the Community Action Partnership Food Bank. Over the course of six days, they were able to collect 8,001 pounds of non-perishable food and $3,786 in monetary donations.

Local 710 contributed an additional $2,000 from its community outreach fund.

The Community Action Partnership’s food bank said the money and food will be a huge help during this difficult time.
