Plans to improve the University of Idaho Kibbie Dome with seating enhancements, the second phase of the renovation, are wrapping up. Later this year, the privately-funded improvements will also include the lowering of the field to increase its capacity by 8-10,000 people. The first phase included safety improvements that the University covered.To celebrate, an official ribbon cutting with remarks from the Director of Athletics and University president will kick-off the seating remodel on Friday evening.Construction in the second phase included a new media and game operations box located along the north concourse. The original box located above the south concourse was expanded into a club room for spectator seating and other event activities. Also along the south concourse, construction of new suite-style seating boxes were included aimed at enhancing spectator comfort and enjoyment.
