REPORT: Big Sky canceling football in the fall

Following a meeting with school Athletic Directors and Presidents, reports are saying the Big Sky Conference is calling off football this fall.  The decision comes just a day after the NCAA put a deadline on divisions to make a decision on the future of championships being played in the fall.

Just over four years ago we lost our friend Jace Malek to cancer.  The Idaho Vandal and West Valley Eagle spent his final months inspiring others by showing incredible strength and toughness.  Before he passed, Jace gave us permission to honor him every year by giving out the Jace Malek Award for toughness to someone involved in high school sports who shows the same qualities Jace did.  We are honored to give the award for the 5th time tonight, to Jake Jeanneret of Chewelah.

Idaho football's spring game has officially been canceled. In light of the current steps being taken with events across the world, Idaho football will follow suit as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of its student-athletes, coaches and fans. 

Vandal women advance to Big Sky championship game

The Idaho Vandals women's basketball team defeated Idaho State, 66-51, on Wednesday evening. The Vandals' victory moved them into the Big Sky Championship Game which will be on Friday afternoon against the Montana State Bobcats. 

Vandal women advance to Big Sky semi-final

The Idaho Vandals women's basketball team defeated Portland State, 56-54, on Tuesday evening in the Big Sky Championships. After trailing for most of the game, the Vandals outscored Portland State 18-12 in the fourth period to secure the win and move on to the Big Sky Conference Semifinals.
