WIAA updates return to play guidelines

The Governor’s Office and Washington State Department of Health issued new guidance for returning to education-based sports and activities, Tuesday, using the statistical benchmarks of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents in a given county as well as the percentage of positive tests.

Idaho High School football practices to begin Monday

The Idaho High School Activities Association made a decision Wednesday not to move fall sports back to later in the year.  Because of that decision, football practices in North Idaho are scheduled to start Monday morning.

WIAA releases plan to return to high school sports in the fall

At its June 7 meeting, the WIAA Executive Board was asked to set philosophical guidelines regarding the anticipated re-opening of schools and activities for the 2020-21 school year. This was done by answering four questions formulated by the National Federation of High Schools. The answers to these questions, which are listed below, will provide the framework for future planning of the Executive Board, WIAA Staff and member schools.

The last time we had any live sports to watch in our area was in march right before march madness when the entire sports world was shut down.  well slowly things have started to reopen in the united states and if we make the short trip across the state line into idaho in coeur d'alene, it's time to play ball.
