Cat Tales expands by 8 paws
SPOKANE, Wash. — Just because the weather is getting colder, doesn’t mean operations at Cat Tales slow down. Managers at the animal sanctuary are gearing up for what they believe could be their busiest season yet!
In addition to their big cats and bears, they recently took in a wolf and two adorable baby cats!
Kachina is a two-month old cougar and Sibella is a four-month old lynx. Both were brought to the zoological park from Montana.
Justin Jakeway, a manager at Cat Tales explained the first few weeks of caring for Sibella and Kachina, “It’s round the clock care, specialized diets, specialized care, figuring out exactly what they need, what they want – just as tedious as a human child.”
Eventually, Sibella and Kachina will have their own spaces outdoors.
If you’d like to see Sibella now, stop inside the Cat Tales gift shop which is connected to the nursery. Be sure to stay quiet since she is a bit shy.
As for Kachina, be sure to get your camera out! She’s quite the ham in front of the lens, and is already showing her caretakers that she is a natural explorer; clearly marking her territory wherever she goes.
As a reminder, Cat Tales has switched to their winter hours. They are now open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Be sure to call ahead of your visit to find out what time Kachina will play outdoors, 238-4126.
