Car Burns In South Spokane Garage Fire
Investigators are searching for the cause of a detached garage fire on Spokane’s South Hill that damaged a car. Fire investigators estimated the damage at $40,000.
The fire happened near the intersection of Garfield and East 39th Avenue around 3:00 Thursday morning.
Firefighters said the garage was fully engulfed when the first fire engine arrived.
Crews were able to quickly knock down the flames. They stayed at the scene for two hours to overhaul the garage which was a complete loss.
The fire also damaged a nearby power pole that had some power lines touching the ground. Officials called Avista Utilities to repair the damaged power lines. No power outages were reported.
The fire department’s Special Investigation unit is trying to determine the cause of the fire.
