Camp Gifford summer camp set to open June 21
SPOKANE, Wash. — Summer camp at Salvation Army’s Camp Gifford is open for registration.
After the cancellation of the program last year due to the pandemic, the oldest camp in Eastern Washington is open for children ages 7-17. The six week camp begins June 21, holding about 200 children per week.
The camp was created so that boys and girls could enjoy the outdoors while also learning more about themselves individually.
Camp Gifford has about 112 acres of land at Deer Lake. The location is 45 minutes outside of Spokane. It hosts cabins, a mini golf course and other activities like zip lining, archery, swimming, and kayaking.
Scholarships will be available for those who need financial assistance. They are on a corresponding scale for a limited set.
For those interested in registering or are looking for more information, people can visit www.campgifford.org or can call (509) 233-2511 for more information.
