Former Hugo’s on the Hill building to be demolished in the next month
SPOKANE, Wash – The building that formerly housed Hugo’s on the Hill bowling alley and bar is set to be demolished soon.
Neal Hughes, of Chattaory-based NRH LLC, confirmed the company will tear down the 30,000-square-foot structure in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center on Spokane’s south hill.
Hughes said the company is still awaiting the permits to begin the demolition, but hope to start in the next month.
There are currently no plans for what will be built in its place, but Hughes said the company hopes to salvage and repurpose the old bowling lanes and beams.
Hugo’s closed suddenly in July. A post on Facebook said the business was closing to address a problem, but the bowling alley never reopened. Shortly after, a note was posted to the front door announcing its permanent closure.
