Bonner Co. Sheriff’s Office: Suspect in multi-county pursuit found with 10 pounds of illicit drugs
BONNER CO., Idaho – Authorities in North Idaho confiscated cash, a stolen firearm and 10 pounds of various drugs from the suspect in multi-county pursuit.
According to a release from the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to assist the Idaho State Police in a vehicle pursuit that started in Spokane County. Authorities said the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Jarred Butler of Boise, crossed into Kootenai County, then headed north on Highway 41 from Spirit Lake.
Deputies said Butler was driving a BMW with a flat tire and was a threat to the public. He was ultimately slowed down by spike strips near Blanchard. Deputies said he was weaving through traffic and ultimately used a PIT maneuver to stop him.
According to the release, Butler then ran away, but was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
Deputies said they found a large amount of cash, a stolen firearm and 10 pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, mushrooms and LSD.
Butler was arrested on several charges including possession of controlled substances, felon in possession of a firearm, felony eluding, trafficking controlled substances, resisting/obstructing arrest, possession of stolen property and a felony arrest warrant.
