Kirstin O’Connor anchors the evening news on 4 News Now, alongside Aaron Luna and Kris Crocker.

Kirstin is a television news anchor with a decade of experience in top markets from coast to coast. Her career began as a freelance assignment desk editor while attending the University of California, San Diego.

After college, Kirstin moved to Medford, Oregon where she reported and anchored at KDRV. In addition to anchoring the morning show, she also reported on major events, including wildfires and the deadly shooting at Umpqua Community College in 2015. Kirstin was also given an exclusive local television tour of the Sugar Pine Mine that drew national attention during an armed standoff between the Bureau of Land Management and local members of the Josephine County Oath Keepers.

In November of 2015, Kirstin moved to Orlando, Florida to report for the CBS affiliate WKMG. In June of 2016, her newsroom experienced a tragedy that would reshape the way every journalist in the state saw the city of Orlando. An armed gunman stormed the Pulse nightclub, killed 49 people, and left 53 more fighting for their lives. It was in the weeks that followed, Kirstin’s role shifted to a permanent seat behind the anchor desk.

Kirstin continued reporting for the afternoon and evening newscasts and developed her own weekly medical franchise.

Returning to the Inland Northwest in 2022 was the fulfillment of a dream come true for Kirstin and her family. Her husband Connor Giampietri grew up in Spokane and went to Washington State University. His extended family still lives in Spokane, and Connor and Kirstin are grateful to raise their young daughter Gwyneth close to her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Kirstin believes the future of journalism is digital, and she is dedicated to being a leader in creating that space for credible news outlets. You may see her with her daughter and nephews at local playgrounds, hiking Tubbs Hill in Coeur d’Alene, or reading a good book at any corner coffee shop or brewery.
