Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day is today!
SPOKANE, Wash. — The most anticipated day of the year has arrived!
Ben & Jerry’s will give away more than a million scoops of ice cream today, April 9, as part of its annual Free Cone Day.
According to a release from the company, “Since 1979, Ben & Jerry’s has dished out free ice cream once a year to thank its fans for being so uniquely awesome.”
The tradition began in Vermont and now spans the globe. Ice cream lovers are invited to Ben & Jerry’s at Riverpark Square and Northern Quest Resort & Casino, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. to join the fun.
Ben & Jerry’s was founded on the idea that business has the opportunity, and the responsibility, to give back to its community. So, as part of the event, the company will be accepting donations for local charities.
“We love getting involved with and giving back to our communities. That’s why this year we’re partnering with 2 great charities,” said Ben & Jerry’s of Spokane owner Kari Conner.
At the downtown Riverpark Square location, donations will allow Mobius Children’s Museum and Science Center to provide hands-on educational STEM based outreach experiences to the Boys & Girls Clubs in our community.
Donations accepted at the Northern Quest Resort & Casino location will go to Operation Spokane Heroes whose mission is to provide support for local area military personnel and their families.
Make sure you stop by to enjoy a frozen treat and help these local charities!
