Beer and Wine Tasting Endorsement Pending at Grocery Outlet
Like many grocery stores in the state of Washington, Moses Lake’s Grocery Outlet may join the ranks of stores that can feature beer and wine tastings. Their application is currently pending and is waiting the twenty-day waiting period for local authorities and the public.
If no local objection has been submitted, the endorsement will be approved.
Owner, Kris Emerson, hopes to do the first tasting in the later part of May… license pending. Serving staff will have to obtain a class 12 alcohol serving permit.
“It’s my baby, so I’m hoping to be the one serving,” said Ermerson. She continued, “We’re going to be featuring some of Washington wines that come through the Grocery Outlet warehouse.”
The beer and wine endorsement is based off of 2010 legislation that passed state-wide. It directs the Liquor Control Board to establish a pilot program to allow beer and wine tasting in grocery stores.
