Bear attacks man in NW Montana
COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. — A bear attacked a hunter in northwest Montana Sunday morning.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks said it appears the man surprised the bear north of Columbia Falls, in the Trumble Creek area.
FWP said the man was hunting with another person, but was alone when he surprised the bear. Then the bear attacked him and ran off.
Investigators don’t know what kind of bear was involved. The attack is still under investigation.
The man injured is getting treatment at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
