Ballet Arts Academy is accepting new students for dance summer camps

SPOKANE, Wash. — As the school year starts to wind down, it’s time to start thinking about keeping your kids busy when they’re not in school. Summer camps are a good way to fill their time. Ballet Arts Academy is offering a lot of options to get kids moving this summer.

Themed Princess Camps

This is for kids 3 and a half to 7 years old. Teen volunteers are paired up with the young dancers and assist them through the entire week. Camps are one week long, and the themes this summer are Aladdin Ballet Camp from June 28-July 2 or the Cinderella Ballet Camp from August 2-6.  If you register by May 15th, children receive a free Jasmine or Cinderella costume.

First Position Camp

This camp is for children who are at least 7 years old with little to no ballet training. They will take a ballet class each day that focuses on the fundamental ballet building blocks and also a daily craft time. This camp will give dancers a jump start on French terms and movements that all ballet levels are build on and will give them a jump start for our return to ballet in September. This camp takes place Aug. 16-20.

5th Position Ballet Camp
This camp is for current Ballet Level 1 and 2 students or students with some prior ballet
training. They will take daily ballet classes, a 1/2 hour craft time and finish with a fun choreography dance class. The camp runs from Aug. 2-6.

Ongoing Summer Ballet Classes
Some families choose to stick with a summer schedule, so BAA is offering ongoing weekly ballet for young dancers ages 3 and a half to 8-years-old. The classes run from 10-11 a.m. in the morning. You may purchase 8 weeks of ballet classes and use them as you choose during our 10 week summer session.

July Summer Intensive
As students mature and grow in their ballet training, they need more serious training. Summer is the perfect time for dancers to focus on their dancing without the struggle of keeping up with studies and school commitments. BAA offers three weeks of intense training in the month of July. Students take daily ballet classes, pointe classes, Variations, stretching, and strengthening. Each week, they will get to explore a different style of dance such as Contemporary, Jazz and Ballroom. There are discounts for registering for two or more weeks and also the flexibility to work around vacation plans.

August Summer Class Offerings
These drop in ballet classes are a great time for dancers to drop in for a class or two and be learn from a different teacher who might say a correction in a slightly different way from their regular teacher.

Parents can register for all these summer camps and dance classes here. You can email contact@balletartsacademy.com or call (509)838-5705 if you’d like more information or have questions.
