Avalanche control on Snoqualmie Pass
SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — While Snoqualmie Pass remains closed to travelers, Washington Department of Transportation crews are busy creating avalanches.
Crews spent Tuesday doing control work on multiple avalanche chutes and trying to keep up with the heavy snowfall that has closed the pass.
A convoy was planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday. Vehicles were lined up along SR 906 at the summit and at exit 52.
To avoid avalanche danger, vehicles will be escorted to North Bend off the hill in the eastbound lanes.
Crews hope to have the pass open tomorrow.
