Authorities identify 3 killed in Billings crash
BILLINGS, Mont. — Yellowstone County authorities have identified three Lodge Grass residents who died in a crash, including a former high school basketball standout.
The coroner’s office identified those who died in Tuesday’s rollover crash as 42-year-old Elvis Old Bull, 26-year-old Kassie Bulltail and 51-year-old Winston Pretty On Top.
The coroner’s office says they died of blunt-force trauma when they were ejected from their vehicle.
The Billings Gazette reports Old Bull scored more than 1,900 points in his career and led Lodge Grass High School to three state championships from 1988 to 1990.
Sports Illustrated named him one of the 50 greatest sports figures in Montana in the 20th century.
The vehicle was attempting to pass a semitrailer on Interstate 90 when the driver drifted off the roadway, overcorrected and crashed.
