Authorities diffuse pipe bomb found in Pullman
PULLMAN, Wash. — The Pullman Police Department found and diffused a pipe bomb that was at a local park Sunday morning.
Someone reported the device to police at 8:03 a.m. Sunday at the City Playfields, according to a press release. Officers said it was placed next to electrical panels on the west side of the Playfields, adjacent to a walking and biking path.
Police said there was evidence someone tried to light the fuse on the bomb.
The Spokane Explosive Disposal Unit responded to help difuse the pipe bomb. Authorities say it was “rendered safe” at about 10:10 a.m. Sunday.
A crime lab team will continue to investigate the device.
