Washington state's carbon tax bill dies in Legislature

Another ambitious effort to pass a carbon tax in Washington state has faltered as both Gov. Jay Inslee and the bill's prime sponsor conceded Thursday that there weren't enough votes to pass the measure out of the state Senate. 

Washington AG: Motel 6 gave guest info to feds

Washington's attorney general is suing Motel 6, saying the budget hotel disclosed the personal information of thousands of guests to federal immigration authorities in violation of state law.
