August marks Washington Wine Month across the state

SPOKANE, Wash.— Washington Wine Month began on August 1, and there are multiple ways for you to celebrate it across the state, including right here in Spokane.

The campaign, which is called WAugust, celebrates the quality and diversity of wines that are produced across the state.

The Spokane Wine Association, which includes 14 wineries, announced their own local campaign for the month.

If you turn in a punch card showing that you visited five or more wineries, you can potentially win a gift card, where more than a dozen of gift cards will be given away.

You can pick up and turn in your punch cards at any SWA member winery. Vino Wine Shop will also feature local wines throughout August.

In total, there are over 1,000 wineries that make 17 million cases of wine, contributing an economic impact of $8 billion across the state.

WAugust runs through August 31.
