Assault suspect arrested after standoff in Perry District

A wanted man was found hiding in the basement of a Perry District home Thursday. Spokane Police have not yet identified the suspect, but he was taken into custody near the home on E. 9th and S. Hatch.

According to police, the man is accused of assaulting a woman and has a criminal history.

In a tweet, Simchuk says police told the man, “You are still under arrest and we are still not going anywhere.” Police said the man was on the roof when they arrived at the home.

KXLY arrived on scene around 9:30 p.m. Police took the man into custody shortly after.
