Arson Investigation Underway In Hillyard Garage Fire
An arson investigation is underway in northeast Spokane, where a garage went up in flames early Sunday morning.
The Spokane Fire Department responded to the fire around 3:45 a.m. Sunday in the 2900 block of East Diamond, which is in the Hillyard neighborhood.
Crews arrived within four minutes and found a double-car garage fully engulfed in flames and threatening a nearby garage.
It took about two hours after the initial flames were put out to ensure it was completely extinguished, according to the fire department.
A passerby was treated on-scene my medics for smoke inhalation and was transported to a local hospital for observation.
Investigators on scene determined the garage fire was intentionally set.
The garage is a total loss with damages estimated at $15,000.
