Armed convicted felon found sleeping in stolen vehicle
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a stolen vehicle and arrested the two suspects who were sleeping inside of it. Two firearms and meth were also recovered.
After an investigation, it was found that they were linked to a second stolen vehicle and a hit and run collision.
During a search of the driver, Justin Autrey, deputies located a loaded .38 revolver and a white crystallized substance that later tested positive for meth. A criminal history check showed Autrey was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.
When the owner of the stolen vehicle arrived on scene, he gave deputies permission to search the car and found several items that did not belong to the owner along with the second firearm.
Deputies discovered that the night Autrey stole the vehicle they found him in, Autrey and the other suspect fled the scene of another stolen vehicle that he crashed into a telephone pole earlier that night.
Autrey was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance-meth and Possession of an Alternated Firearm.
