Annual ‘Spike and Dig’ volleyball tournament returns this summer

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spike and Dig, the annual co-ed volleyball tournament, will return to Dwight Merkel this August. 

The tournament was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic, but organizers said they are moving forward with this year’s event in correspondence with the state’s Healthy Washington plan.

The tournament is set for August 7 and 8, and registration is already open. The early entry deadline for guaranteed entry is July 21. 

The cost of the event is $230 for an adult team of seven players and $200 for a SHS or JHS team with seven players, plus a $35 charge for each player after seven. Late entry is $300.
