Amazon to open new delivery station in Airway Heights this year
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — Amazon is opening a new delivery station in Airway Heights this year, which will receive packages from the West Plains fulfillment center to be shipped around the Spokane area.
The station will be located at McFarlane and Garfield Road in Airway Heights. Amazon says this new center will create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs paying at least $15 per hour with benefits.
“We are excited that Amazon is expanding its footprint in Spokane County,” said Spokane County Commissioner Al French. “This new Amazon Delivery Station will bring hundreds of additional jobs, revenue and growth to the County during a critical time when many have experienced job loss due to the pandemic.”
This comes after the construction of an AXML delivery station in Spokane Valley earlier this year, which specializes in large items.
“Everyone in our region deserves a job if they want one,” said Rep. Mike Volz. “I’m grateful we’re seeing more expansion in the West Plains area. Another Amazon facility in Airway Heights will lead to further career opportunities for hundreds of citizens, give our local economy a boost, and serve as an example of what our area has to offer employers of all sizes.”
There is no scheduled date yet for the delivery station to open.
