All Spokane-area Shopko stores to close
SPOKANE, Wash. — Shopko has announced it’s closing 70 percent of its stores after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January. That’s more than twice the number of stores Shopko identified for closing several weeks ago.
The list now includes numerous stores in Washington and Idaho, and all three Spokane-area locations.
Earlier this year, the company announced it would close the South Hill store, located on S. Regal. Just announced Thursday, the remaining stores on N. Newport Highway and E. Sprague Ave. will be closed as well.
The estimated final day of operation for the north Spokane store is May 5. The Spokane Valley location is expected to close May 12.
The Bonners Ferry Shopko, located at 6355 Main St., is also on the updated list of closures. The final day of operation there is also planned for May 12. And the Pullman location will close April 14.
Elsewhere around the state, stores in Kennewick, Wenatchee, Union Gap, Lacey, Yakima, Walla Walla, Prosser, and Quincy are all closing as well.
Nationwide, Shopko is closing 251 of its 360 stores in more than two dozen states. You can see the full list here.
