A Rainy Start to Bloomsday Weekend – Kris
“At least Bloomsday isn’t TODAY!” I think you’re going to hear that phrase a lot on Saturday. Saturday would not be a good day to be running 7+ miles through Spokane because it’s going to be rainy and chilly! High temperatures will top out in the upper 40s. It does look like we will be mostly dry by Saturday evening. That sets the stage for an absolutely perfect Bloomsday. Temperatures will be in the 40s at race time with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will climb into the 60s, and there will be more and more sunshine as the day, and the race, progresses.
There is still a chance of showers in the mountains on Sunday. There’s a better chance of showers region-wide on Monday. The big news for next work week, however, is that we could have our first 70°+ day of the season! If it feels like we’re overdue, you’re right. The average date of our first 70° or higher day is April 17th.
