8,000 athletes volley to head to Nationals at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier
SPOKANE, Wash. – — Close to 700 teams with 8,000 athletes and 12,000 spectators are all hunkering down in the Spokane Convention Center for the Pacific Northwest Qualifier tournament for US girls club volleyball Junior National Championships.
The two-weekend event is the greatest moneymaker in Spokane sports; generating 15,000 overnight hotel stays and a near $12-million economic impact for the Lilac City.
Spokane has hosted the event for nearly 20 years. If you have a love of volleyball or if don’t, athletes say the fun, loud and competitive atmosphere are reasons you should come check it out and cheer on some of the local teams competing against players from around the country.
