7-time convicted felon arrested on stolen gun, drug charges in Spokane Valley
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A seven-time convicted felon was arrested on a felony warrant late Sunday evening by Spokane Valley Police deputies.
Deputy Jason Hunt was patrolling near 2104 N. Pines around 11:10 p.m. when he spotted a gray Volkswagen Jetta. According to a release, the police department had received a tip that 23-year-old Cameron R. Inge had borrowed a similar vehicle and was carrying a pistol and drugs.
Hunt and another assisting deputy checked inside the Black Pearl Poker Room and Casino where they located Inge. Deputies told Inge he was under arrest. He complied and was taken into custody without incident.
During a frisk for weapons, deputies located a Taurus 9mm pistol, later found to have been reported stolen in Kootenai County, in Inge’s wasteband.
Deputies also located $485 in cash and poker chips, along with keys matching the Volkswagen. Drug paraphernalia was also visible inside the vehicle without the need to enter it.
Inge did not give consent to search his vehicle and, after he was advised of his rights, became verbally abusive toward deputies. SVPD said Inge began cussing and saying he would taken them all on if it were not for the badges and guns. Inge’s criminal history, including multiple felonies, prohibits him from possessing a firearm legally.
Inge was taken transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for first degree unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a firearm in a prohibited place and his felony warrant.
A search warrant for the vehicle was requested and granted. During the search, deputies recovered 9mm ammunition, drug paraphernalia, a snort tube with residue, a clear plastic baggie with a substance believed to be methamphetamine, a black box with scales and two containers full of a substance believed to be black tar heroin.
Following the search, Inge was also charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute – heroin and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute – methamphetamine.
