Surveillance video from a nearby business shows the moments an SUV slammed into a school bus full of high school students in western Washington Monday afternoon.

It shows the bus going through an intersection with a green light while the SUV speeds past someone waiting to turn left. The SUV continues into the intersection and turns right into the school bus.

The bus has 28 students from Kent Lake High School on board. Seven of them were injured and

“I just flung, forward. … Many of the people in the front, their noses were like bleeding and stuff, [their] lips were busted,” said one student who was on the bus. None of the students received serious injuries or had to be taken to the hospital.

The driver and a passenger in the SUV were seriously hurt and taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Four other people were in the backseat of the SUV. Only one of them stayed at the crash scene, the rest ran away. Troopers say they were all found shortly after.
One was arrested and taken to the King County Jail for being a convicted felon with a gun.

It’s not clear yet what charges the driver will face.
