What’s it like to get vaccinated? Your neighbors share their experiences
SPOKANE, Wash. — While some people are still hesitant to get the COVID-19 vaccine, many others have already had their shot.
On Monday, we asked our viewers to share their experience getting vaccinated. 4 News Now received nearly 50 responses in just 24 hours.
“It’s important that we get back to some normalcy and it’s not really going to happen until a lot of people get it,” said Mary Basta, who recently got her second dose of the Moderna vaccine.
Jessa Lewis, a COVID survivor currently waiting on her second Moderna dose said, “For me, I’m a hugger, I love my friends and my community and I’m just so eager to get to see them all again.”
“It would kill me inside if I got someone else sick and if someone else lost someone they love and care for,” said Charlie Backett, who’s now fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.
“It was something that I felt important to protect not only myself but my family as well,” said Carrie Morrison, who got her first dose of Pfizer.
Gene Pittenger told us he’s been fully vaccinated with Pfizer. His thoughts?—”I have quite a bit of confidence in science.”
“We actually just planned a trip this summer to San Diego,” said Matthew Kenna, who recently got his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, “so we’re feeling comfortable enough that we can still wear masks and everything on the plane but we can do some of those things that we missed out on,”
“I feel like even just going to the hospital can be a lot of money out of pocket if you’re underinsured or don’t have insurance,” remarked Kerrina Zehnder — who has her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Cate Patton said she’s just ready for all this to be done. She is also waiting on her second Moderna shot. “I’m just ready for all of this to be over and if I need to get a vaccine to speed the process along, then fine, I’ll get the vaccine,” she told us.
