27-year-old man killed in crash near Grant County Animal Outreach
MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A 27-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Moses Lake.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Moses Lake Police Department responded to the crash at Randolph Road Northeast off Randolph Road Northeast and Turner Road Northeast.
Juan Garcia was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango with 23-year-old Arianna Pimentel in the passenger seat. Garcia was leaving the parking lot of the Grant County Animal Outreach, turning onto Randolph Road Northeast.
As he was pulling out of the parking lot, a 2001 Kenworth Construction Commercial Vehicle pulling a trailer hit his car. The Kenworth, driven by 47-year-old Jeffery Mask, was heading northbound when he hit the driver’s side of the car.
Both vehicles went off the west side of the road. Eyewitnesses say they believe Garcia failed to yield the right of way to the Kenworth.
Garcia was pronounced dead on the scene. His body is with the Grant County Coroner’s Office.
Crews treated Pimentel, who was flown to Central Washington Hospital. She is in stable condition.
Mask was not injured in the crash.
