FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. — Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday night, Franklin County first responders were called to Palouse Falls for reports that a swimmer had gone under the water below the falls and had not resurfaced.
Witnesses say three males in their early 20s were swimming in the pool below the water. Two of them were sucked into the water by the current, and a 23-year-old man from Spokane didn’t come back up.
Two of the swimmers were able to make it back to shore and were not injured.
Franklin County Deputies, Columbia Basin Dive Rescue, Washington State Park Rangers, Franklin County Fire District 3 and Pasco Fire all worked to find the missing swimmer, but he is still missing.
