SPOKANE, Wash. — Detectives are currently investigating a shooting on the South Hill that left two people injured.

Spokane County Deputies responded to reports of gunshots near S. Magnolia Street and 58th Avenue on Sunday at around 8:25 p.m.

Deputies located ammo casings on the roadway and interviewed several witnesses in the area.

Deputies learned that a man and a woman had arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. Law enforcement contacted both the man and the woman, who are expected to recover from their injuries.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office believes the man and woman were involved in some type of deal, possibly for drugs, with another man. The deal went bad, and the man and woman were shot inside their car. They then drove to a hospital for medical treatment.

The third person involved has not been identified, and it’s unknown if he is injured. He is described as a black male in his mid-teens to early twenties. He was wearing a dark hoodie and pants, possibly a track suit, and dark shoes. He was seen leaving the area before deputies arrived.

No one has been charged at this time, and this remains an active investigation.
