Assistant News Director/Executive News Producer

We're looking for an experienced journalist and proven leader who can oversee the day-to-day operations of our news team. HOURS: Full Time
        
REPORTS TO: Executive News Director    
    
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:        
-Supervise the operation of the newsroom and guide coverage across all platforms
-Creative leader for the look, pace, content, and style of newscast
-Review and approve writing and production of reporter stories
-Lead content publishing efforts for station website and social media
-Ensure product stays on-brand across multiple platforms
-Develop and set coverage expectations in conjunction with other news managers
-Work with Executive News Director on long-term planning and special projects        
    
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:        
-4-yr degree in Journalism, Communications or related course of study
-5 years TV newsroom experience
-Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems, digital publishing, and social media
-Possess strong broadcast and AP style writing skills and sound news judgment
-Able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
-Excellent project-management skills and constant attention to detail
-Thorough knowledge of media law
-Experience with newsroom non-linear video editing systems preferred
-Possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record
