PULLMAN, Wash. - A Washington State University football player has been cited with a misdemeanor for allegedly punching a man on College Hill last weekend.
Pullman police say that 19-year-old Spencer Waseem punched the victim during an argument outside a College Hill home early Sunday morning. The 21-year-old victim suffered a cut lip and received stitches at Pullman Regional Hospital.
Waseem was cited for fourth degree misdemeanor assault on Wednesday.
Waseem, a Florida native, is a red shirt sophomore cornerback for the WSU Cougars. He appeared in the Cougars' first game last year before suffering a season ending knee injury.
Waseem is the second Cougar football player who got into trouble last weekend. Freshman offensive lineman Denzell Dotson was also arrested early Sunday morning on College Hill for suspicion of drunk driving.
