Idaho gave heavily favored Northern Illinois a scare on Saturday, but the Vandals fall short in their home opener, 45-35.

Idaho led 28-21 at the half before the Huskies, who played in a BCS bowl game a year ago, scored fourteen unanswered points to start the third quarter. 

Idaho tied the game early in the 4th at 35-35 before Northern Illinois scored the final 10-points.

With the loss, the Vandals fall to 0-3.
