SPOKANE, Wash. -

Hillsboro right fielder Brian Billigen hit a towering three-run home run in the 11th inning to help the Hops escape with a 4-1 win over the Spokane Indians in front of 6,270 fans at Avista Stadium.

John Niggli, making his first career start at Avista Stadium, threw seven innings while allowing three hits and one run. Niggli started the season in the Arizona Rookie League before being called up to Spokane on Aug. 8. He struck out four batters and lowered his ERA to 1.59 Tuesday night.

The Indians had a chance to win the game in both the ninth and 10th innings with runners in scoring position, but a double play and a flyout, respectively, ended the threat. The Indians had nine hits on the night.

Janluis Castro continued his offensive tear, as the infielder collected he first triple of the season. Just moments later, Barrett Serrato, who lost his seven-game hitting streak, knocked Castro in with a sac fly to left field.
