The longest race in North America continues at Spokane County Raceway as 50 teams compete in the 36-Hour closed-course endurance Chump Car race.

The race got underway on Friday night and will run through Sunday.

Each team consists of a 10-man crew, which includes a maximum of six drivers.  Cars pit about every two hours, allowing drivers to switch.

The cars were bought for no more than $500, and the only money poured into each car was for safety measures.

The race was designed for average Joe's who otherwise wouldn't get the chance to do so.
