DALLAS, Texas -

The Sacramento Kings are not coming to Seattle after the NBA Board of Governors vote.

The final vote was 22-8 to keep the team in Sacramento and not relocate the franchise to Seattle.  NBA commissioner David Stern announced the decision from Dallas today and says that at this point, there is not plan in place to get a team in Seattle.

The Maloof brothers who own the Kings had agreed to sell the team to a group led by Chris Hansen that would move the team to Seattle.  Now the NBA will strongly advise the Maloofs to sell to the group that have come up in Sacramento.

At this time there are no plans to expand in the NBA, so the possibility of having the Seattle Sonics anytime soon appears to be over.
