Rain or Shine, Let's Play Ball!

SPOKANE, Washington - Despite wet streets and the chance of rain, Spokane Hoopfest announced Saturday, games will go on as scheduled. They're asking players to be cautious and be ready to move to safety if lightning moves into the area.

"Due to the wet streets, we are not sure the streets will be taped or marked with chalk in time for 8:00 am start," Hoopfest marketing director Kirstin Davis said in a news release. "Games will proceed if there are no lines and if that is the case, it will require an extra measure of sportsmanship."

Davis says volunteers will get to those courts with chalk line and tape as quickly as they can.

The National Weather Service said through its Twitter account Saturday morning, "The early morning daylight is showing breaks in the clouds over Spokane. Should see drier conditions through the AM."
