Jackson Playfair's first goal of the season with just 2:20 left in the game lifted the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels Saturday night in Red Deer, Alberta. Playfair's goal capped a three goal third period for Spokane as the Chiefs improved their record to 7-2 on the season.

It marked the third straight game Aviani has scored a goal, as he has 4 goals in his last 3 games.

Mitch Holmberg would score his league leading 11th of the season on the power play just 55 seconds later to give Spokane their first lead at 2-1. Holmberg has scored in all 9 Chiefs games this season. Red Deer would even the game at 12:21 on a power play goal, but Playfair would score the game winner on a rebound of a Riley Whittingham shot to give the Chiefs their 5th win in their last 6 trips to Red Deer.

Spokane outshot the Rebels 37-22 in the game, going 1-7 on the power play and 4-5 on the penalty kill. The Chiefs will finish off their 3 game road swing through Alberta with a 3pm Pacific time game in Calgary against the Hitmen.
