Blogging from SB48: Sunday's pregame adventures

MEADOWLANDS, NJ - We're here.

It was a  pretty arduous journey, but we're officially at MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl XLVIII.

Sunday, 11:30 am ET:  I'm excited - it took forever to get here but it's finally game day.  Osso seems nervous.  He's also not much of a morning person. #GrumpyOsso

Sunday, 12:15 pm ET:  We arrive an hour at the media hotel for the shuttle, which leaves at 1:15 pm.  Two buses are already packed to capacity.  Looks like we're on board for the long haul.

Sunday, 1:10 pm ET:  I'd imagine all of the media buses are full, so we actually leave early.  The trip only takes 20 minutes and we arrive at the Meadowlands pretty quickly.

Sunday, 1:30 pm ET:  The fun begins.  Upon arrival, thousands of media members all head in the same direction:  towards the media reception tent which obviously is all about bag-checks and security.  That process actually took about 45 minutes.

SIDEBAR:  While in line for the 45 minutes, news starts to spread about Philip Seymour Hoffman's death.  Amazing actor.

Sunday, 2:30 pm ET:  We locate the media workrooms, which are in the racetrack building adjacent to the Stadium.

Sunday, 3:15 pm ET:  After enjoying a complimentary hot dog, we set up shop in the media workroom.  Now it's time to figure out where we can go, what we can do, and when we can do it.

Hoping to get another update in before kick-off, but not sure that will happen.
