An Idaho Vandal is celebrating another gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
University of Idaho graduate Kristin Armstrong won the second gold medal of her career on Wednesday, capturing the Women's Cycling Time Trial with a time of 37:34.82. The Boise resident finished the 18 mile course more than 15 seconds faster than the silver medalist.
Armstrong first captured gold at the 2008 games in Beijing. But she had to battle more than a competitive field to defend her medal. Armstrong briefly retired from the sport after giving birth, and then broke her collarbone just two months before the 2012 games.
