VIDEO: Day 5 of WSU spring football
PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State football continued spring practice Saturday with two-hour workout in helmets and shoulder pads in Martin Stadium.
The Cougars worked individual drills, 7-vs.-7, kickoff return before finishing up with two long scripted drives of 11-vs.-11.
During the team session, wide receiver Brett Bartolone made nice diving catch on a pass from Conner Halliday early in drive. Halliday later connected with wideout Kristoff Williams on a perfectly placed over-the-shoulder catch for a score. Apodaca highlighted his day with a long pass to Marks who won a battle for a jump ball.
For the defense, cornerback Rahmel Dockery turned in a solid day, picking off a pass in 7-vs-7 before intercepting a Halliday pass and also broke up another in the team segment. Defensive lineman Xavier Cooper continues to impress, blowing through the line and into the backfield for a "sack" and getting into the backfield for a couple quarterback hurries later in the day. A few plays later, linebacker Tana Pritchard timed up a blitz perfectly and blew up a run play in the backfield.
