"I thought we played a pretty hard game if you take the special teams out of the scenario," Jets coach Claude Noel said. "It was a pretty tough game for us. I'm disappointed to say the least."
Kane gave the Jets a 1-0 lead 4:48 into the game, scoring on a back-door pass from Nik Antropov, who set it up with a nice move behind the net.
The Flyers were trailing and being outshot, 12-1, when Simmonds took on Thorburn. The fight seemed to get them going. Moments later, Schenn stuffed in a rebound to tie it, 1-1.
"I think maybe that spark by Simmonds, that always gets guys going," Schenn said.
