This week's Kimmel Athletic Shining Star focuses on an entire senior class for the Colton Wildcats who not only led their school to its fifth straight state title, they were also the academic state champs.
"I love my seniors I couldn't imagine it without them. We know everybody, we know what we're gonna do, I love it it's great chemistry," said Raylynn Smith.
The five seniors have been incredible in the classroom with the lowest GPA standing at 3.97.
"I think we all just want to do our best in everything we do whether its sports or academics and I think we're always taught like 'Yes sports, we're really good at those but academics are first so we focus on those'," said Kaden Dahmen.
Kaitlin Druffel added, "We're just hard workers and we're go getters. We can persevere through anything and we work our hardest to get where we want to be."
"We're more of a team. We like to help each other, make sure that everybody understands and comprehends everything," said Payton Meyer.
Paige Vincent added, "We don't view it as competition really at all. You just go out and do your best and whatever you get, you get."
