Ben Pavish likes to jump. A lot. Whether it be on the basketball court where he helped lead Pullman to a 22-4 record, or on the track, where he excels in the high jump, long jump, and most notably the triple jump.
"That's the one I've found the most success in so I've put a lot of training into that," Pavish says.
His track coach, Mike Hinz adds, "As he's gotten into his junior and senior years, he's been one of the top triple jumpers in the state."
Given his success and versatility - he's even running the 4x4 this season - Pavish is someone that teammates look up to, and not just because he's 6'4.
"For one thing he leads by example and therefore his hard work rubs off on others," Hinz says.
Pavish adds, "I'm always cracking jokes, trying to make people laugh, and then when it comes down to track I'm a serious person."
"That would be awesome for me. I've put a lot of work in, and continue to put a lot of work in, and I trust the training that the coaches put me through and just hope for the best," Pavish says.
And hope to make one last jump... from second to first.
